AgroArt: The Art + Agroecology project

The Art + Agroecology project: AgroArt is a two week residency for artists focused on socio-ecological transformation.

The Art + Agroecology project: AgroArt is a live/work art residency to galvanize socio-ecological transformation. It takes place over two summer seasons at Sankara Farm, in Kansas City, MO. Each season provides artists 2-week residencies including accommodations, unrestricted studio access, on-farm training and a small living/material stipend. Participants are supported in claiming capacity for self determination of their bodies and imaginations: material, cultural and spiritual. And through practical and aesthetic unpacking of agro-historical and ongoing traumas artists become active agents of healing change.

AgroArt comes to a head with a book publication that acts as an art and ecology resource.  It features contributions from artists and community members involved in the project. The book will include written, visual, and sound-based work from both seasons of participants to further the creative decolonization of community.

**artists can apply at anytime, but only 4 artists are chosen per growing season**

Artist receive:

2 weeks board/accomodation/unrestricted studio access

$100 material stipend

$250 living stipend

A public presentation

15 hours training in sustainable food production and direct-market access
